This page describes what we'll learn in the upcoming week.
We have math every day and rotate between units in social studies and science.

Block 1 Math 6 Enhanced Math
WOO HOO! We have now covered all the 6th grade math curriculum standards. Unit 9: Culminating Capstone Unit (previously Show What You Know) revisits the 6th grade math standards. In preparation for the 5th grade Math Milestones, we will review 5th grade geometry standards. Once we finish the Math Milestones, we'll have a quick review of select 6th grade math standards.
Block 2 Math 5 (On/Enhanced Math)
This week, we will continue working through Unit 7 - Exploring Geometry and the Coordinate Plane. The students are doing an incredible job with their new graphing skills, and we only have one new skill left to master this week. Students will learn how to discover and extend a pattern to complete input/output tables, then they'll graph their results. In addition to this, we'll continue to review for the Math Milestones. Once we finish the Math Milestones, we'll have a quick review of geometry and graphing and then we'll take our final test of the year on May 13th.
Social Studies
We finished our unit America between 1950 and 1975, which includes the Civil Rights Movement. So, our main focus for the next two weeks will be on reviewing for the Science Milestones (see below).
Science
WOO HOO! We have now covered all the 5th grade science curriculum standards. The Science Milestones is May 9th. Until that date, we will be putting forth great effort towards reviewing all of these standards using the practice questions on Georgia Milestones (GMAS) website. The language arts teachers are even helping out by facilitating these reviews with their homerooms. You'd be impressed with how much they know about our science curriculum! These questions give students quite a bit of experience not only with reviewing all that they've learned, but also with answering questions which have a very similar format to those on the actual assessment. The Science Milestones involves quite a bit of reading on each question along with utilizing pictures and charts to answer many of the questions.
